The Highlights
Broker Cars Instead of Buying Them: Sell on Behalf of Your Customers
Brokerage brings new business onto your lot without tying up capital in inventory. When someone brings you their car to sell, you create it as a brokerage vehicle, sell it on behalf of the owner, and earn a commission. You can do this with the “Brokerage” switch when creating a new vehicle, when importing your listings from mobile.de and AutoScout24, or directly on a vehicle you have not purchased. In the new “Brokerage” tab you record the owner and your commission: as a fixed amount, as a percentage of the sales price, or as the proceeds above a minimum price.
Autaxo creates the brokerage agreement and the purchase contract between owner and buyer for you, “brokered by” your dealership. If a private individual engages you outside your business premises or online, Autaxo includes the notice on the right of withdrawal as well. And if things turn out differently because the owner takes the car back or you decide to buy it after all, you handle that with one click on the vehicle.
Bill Your Commission and Keep Track
Once you have found a buyer, you mark the car as brokered. If the price is below the minimum price, you record the owner’s consent at the same time, and the proof is filed under “Documents”. “Create commission invoice” calculates your commission from the agreed terms, and with “Bill costs” you pass expenses on to the owner. Carlo knows your brokerage deals too and writes the commission invoice and the cost invoice for you.
In the inventory the car carries a “Brokerage” label, the listing says “Sale on behalf of a customer”, and once it is sold or returned, all listings go offline. Because the car never belongs to you, Autaxo keeps it out of both the inventory list and the vehicle trade register. On the vehicle you see your commission instead of the profit, and the financial overview shows your brokerage commissions separately.
The Tax Export for Your Tax Firm, Whatever Software It Uses
The DATEV export becomes the tax export. You decide once how your tax firm receives its data: if it works with DATEV, Autaxo transfers accounting entries and receipts directly, as before. For ADDISON, Stotax, and Agenda you get a ZIP file with the accounting batch in DATEV format, your receipt images as PDF and photo, and your cash book including self-issued receipts. For any other software, you get the accounting batch as a CSV file.
The file is created in the background while you keep working. On request, Autaxo splits the file handover by receipt category. For each month and each receipt you see what has already reached your tax firm, what is still missing, and what is holding a receipt up. Every handover stays in the history, where you can download the files whenever you need them.
New Tax Case “Tax-exempt (§ 4 UStG)”
If you sell a warranty insurance policy along with the car and procure the cover for the buyer, you select the new tax case on that line item. The invoice shows the line item without VAT and with a fixed note on the tax exemption. The vehicle line item is not affected, even under the margin scheme (§ 25a UStG). The accounting batch in DATEV format, the advance VAT return, and the e-invoice treat the line item as tax-exempt.
The tax case is also available for tax-exempt purchases. As always, check with your tax advisor whether a line item is tax-exempt.
Logo and Brand Colors in One Place
Under Settings → Branding you now manage your logo and your brand colors. Autaxo crops the logo to fit, and the original is kept. Autaxo takes the colors from your website or from the logo.
Your logo then appears on your invoices and contracts, in the photo studio, and in the vehicle report, and new dealer websites use your brand colors. If you upload your logo while setting up your dealership or in the photo studio, Autaxo crops it the same way there.
More Improvements
- Checkboxes in contracts: You tick them right in the contract, and they appear exactly like that in the PDF.
- Security deposit in templates: In the template editor you can select the security deposit as a field. Autaxo fills in the VAT portion of the price.
- One lead per email thread: All emails in a thread stay in one lead, no matter which folder of your mailbox they are in.
- More speed: Autaxo loads and responds faster.
